Βιογραφικό

Ο Μιχάλης Σιώπης γεννήθηκε στην Θεσσαλονίκη στις 18 Φεβρουαρίου, 1987. Σπούδασε 8 χρόνια κλασική μουσική με βασικό όργανο το πιάνο από ηλικία 8 χρονών, ενώ “σκάλιζε” ταυτόχρονα και το κλαρίνο αφού είχε τα ακούσματα στο σπίτι. Σε ηλικία 15 χρονών πλέον έπαιζε κλαρίνο, και σε ηλικία 18 χρονών άρχισε να εμφανίζεται σε χορούς και βραδιές. Η πρώτη του εμφάνιση ήταν σε μια βραδιά στο κέντρο Αυλαία αφιερωμένη στην μνήμη του Θεόδωρου Παυλίδη συνοδεύοντας τον γιο του, Στάθη Παυλίδη. Μάλιστα τον έδωσε θάρρος ο μεγάλος τραγουδιστής Χρύσανθος εκείνη την βραδιά στο “βάπτισμα του πυρός”.

Συνέχισε τις σπουδές του στο κλαρίνο στο Τμήμα Μουσικής Επιστήμης και Τέχνης στο Πανεπιστήμιο Μακεδονίας, έχοντας καθηγητή τον μουσικοσυνθέτη Μάνο Αχαλινωτόπουλο. Αποφοίτησε το 2013 παίρνοντας το δίπλωμα παραδοσιακής μουσικής με ειδίκευση στο κλαρίνο. Ζει στην Θεσσαλονίκη. 

Εμφανίζεται σε πολλές πολιτιστικές εκδηλώσεις στην Ελλάδα και στο εξωτερικό όπως Γερμανία, Σουηδία, Τουρκία, και Αμερική. Επίσης διδάσκει το ποντιακό κλαρίνο σε μαθητές. 

Ο Μιχάλης Σιώπης είναι γιος του βιρτουόζου κλαρινίστα και γνωστού επιχειρηματία Κώστα Σιώπη.

Michalis Siopis was born in Thessaloniki on February 18, 1987. He studied classical music for eight years, with piano as his main instrument, beginning at the age of eight, while simultaneously experimenting with the clarinet, an instrument he was familiar with from his home environment. By the age of fifteen, he was already playing the clarinet, and at eighteen, he began performing at dances and evening events.

His first public appearance took place at a tribute night at the venue Avlaia, in memory of Theodoros Pavlidis, where he accompanied Pavlidis’ son, Stathis. On that same evening, the renowned singer Chrysanthos encouraged him and gave him confidence during his “baptism by fire.”

He continued his clarinet studies at the Department of Music Science and Art at the University of Macedonia under the guidance of composer Manos Achalinotopoulos. He graduated in 2013, earning a diploma in traditional music with a specialization in the clarinet. He currently lives in Thessaloniki.

Michalis Siopis regularly performs at numerous cultural events in Greece and abroad, including Germany, Sweden, Turkey, and the United States. He also teaches the Pontic clarinet to students.

He is the son of virtuoso clarinetist and well-known businessman Kostas Siopis.
